Knife Consultations This is one of the more interesting services of Trackers Edge. It could save you money and aggravation. Individuals, groups or organizations who are interested in obtaining the best knife for their needs are the people who will be interested in this service. An extremely detailed questionnaire will be filled out by the client. Based on the information given a knife or knives unique to the clients needs will be chosen.

I have my own database program which is constantly updated with the most recent information on knives. This database contains various categories that are searched to narrow the potential choices down to a manageable level. This service is geared towards tactical, survival and combat knives for professionals or those who are very serious about their knives. Besides being both an objective and scientific way to come up with the ideal knife it can also be fun and amusing to see what knife is ideal for you. I am constantly searching the world for knives and updated information on knives. Based on the hours of research involved, the service is very under priced. Custom knives are usually worth the cost, but often are out of the financial reach of many knife enthusiasts . By filling out the very detailed information sheets required to provide this service you will be forming a profile of the knife or knives which best match your needs. You should end up with a knife that is close to or better than what you would have ordered if you had it custom made. It should be noted that depending on the price range you supply a custom knife may be what you need and can afford. There are some great custom knife makers out there putting out quality products for reasonable prices that offer outstanding value. There are many custom knives that are such a reasonable price that you will not be afraid to use them in the field, as opposed to putting them up on the wall. Many believe that custom knives are so expensive that they are totally cost prohibitive, but this is not true! After seeing what the results are of your knife profile you may in fact want and be able to afford a custom knife. Note: In addition to knives, my database also includes tomahawks, hatchets and small entry tools. As part of the survey you decide the maximum cost of the knife you are willing to purchase. You could buy a knife without taking advantage of our service and put the $10.00 to $20.00 you may have paid for the service towards the knife. You may later find you may have been better off with a far less expensive knife for your needs and could have saved a considerable amount of money. Also you may find that the knife you purchased is not what you actually needed and have to spend more money on another knife. The worse scenario is ending up with a knife that fails you in a critical moment. What if the best knife suggested for me by the your service turns out to be is very inexpensive? Would I have been better off picking out my own knife at random? No. For example if you give a price range between $20.00 and $200.00 and your ideal knife turns out to be worth $40.00 you just saved $160.00 by not buying a knife that may be overpriced for your requirements . Also a higher price does not always ensure the knife is going to serve you better than a less expensive model. I do sell knives, but that is totally independent of this service. The odds of you requiring the exact knife I may have in stock are statistically less likely than being available from another dealer. Remember, I normally do not supply the knife itself. If I have really good information on the best place to get a product I will supply that information. If you have trouble finding a knife I will assist you upon request. If you need a referral to a reputable dealer I will do so and some dealers may even give you a discount when I refer you to them. If I do happen to have the exact knife you need I will let you know, but it is your choice where to get it. I do not request anything from a dealer for sending them business. I am only influenced by what is good for my client. (Note: Here is an odd fact. The dealers who do offer my clients discounts or offer to reimburse me in appreciation for the business they may receive are in fact usually the most ethical and reliable dealers. Its not that they are starving for business or trying to sway my opinions. They are just people who respect their customers and associates. That is why I recommend them in the first place!) What if I put in two surveys at different times? Will they have different results? It depends on how you fill out the survey. You could fill out the same survey with a little change and see a big difference or change a lot and see no difference. It depends on what has been changed or what is new in the knife market. Would I be able to accomplish the same results just through personal research?. Not likely. The hours put into the data base alone are staggering and it is constantly being updated. Dealers, companies and literature from all over the world are all part of the information gathered. It would but it would be physically impossible for the average person to match the research involved in the service. If you request the service you will get a survey to fill out. When you see the survey there will be no doubt of the research involved. Knife Sales All persons wishing to purchase any products must be 18 years or older. Failure to comply with this may result in the product not being delivered, refunds will not be given and in addition, parents and local authorities may be notified. Buyer is responsible for all Duty costs and conforming to the any laws that apply to them. Trackers Edge is not responsible for the use or misuse of any of their products.. Trackers Edge reserves the right restrict sales. Trackers Edge always has a stock of products which is always changing. We constantly look for good deals on knives, unusual knives and hard to get knives. Some knives are direct from a dealer or have been obtained from individuals such as collectors. All knives are new and obtained from a dealer unless otherwise noted. If they are not new they will either be mint condition knives that have been in an individuals possession and are being resold or are Military Collectables which will have their condition stated. What is Maximum Price? This is a unique pricing system we use. Some of our products may be unique or almost impossible to get. Sometimes it is very difficult to set a price because of the effort it took to get the article. Sometimes the product may have been bought on speculation years before. In cases such as these we will post the maximum cost that we have found the article has offered for. The customer can make an offer of what the maximum price is they will pay for the article. We will only contact the client if we accept the offer. We also have knife accessories and other articles for sale. If you are looking for a particular knife to purchase and are having trouble finding it Trackers Edge will find out where it can be obtained. If you have ever tried to find a hard to obtain knife you will appreciate how difficult this may be. The cost for locating where knife can be obtained is $10.00. It is then up to you to deal with the dealer. If this is a knife recommended to you through our Knife Consulting Service there is no charge for locating where you may purchase it. If you actually want us to get a particular knife for you contact us for details. As part of our research we evaluate dealers, manufacturers and custom knife makers with reasonable prices. This worldwide research is ongoing. We usually will order a product and not indicate the reason we are making the purchase. We want to be treated like any other customer and not receive special treatment just because we a evaluating them. We are very serious about this service. We purchased approximately as much as $70,000 in knives in the past two years just to evaluate dealers, makers, manufacturers and products. We will gladly refer you to someone who meets our standards. Just let us know the general area in which you live and what you are interested in. This research is expensive and time consuming. Due to that, the cost is $5.00. Knife Designing If you want something really unique I will design a knife based on your specifications. All you have to do is fill out the same survey used for knife consultations. Upon request I can also refer you to a knife maker who will make the knife for you. This can be a very time consuming process. The introductory cost for this service is $100.00. Displays and Display Cases Display Cases of various sizes can be made upon demand. If you do not want the item encased but displayed this can also be done. Contact us with what you want. Tell us what you want to spend and we will tell what we can do for that price. Minimum cost is $50.00 Contact Trackers Edge for details. Knife Restorations This service consists of minor repairs to knives and other edged tools. They can be cleaned up, polished and restored in other ways. Some scratches and other marks can be removed or improved. Contact Trackers Edge for a quote. Note: Some collectibles should not be altered too much as it may have a affect on their value. It is up to the client to look into this but we are happy to offer guidance in this area. Knife Painting It consists of exactly what it sounds like. We paint the blade. We can do this in either plain or camo patterns. You may want it done to improve the look of a displayed knife, to have something unique or to have a camo pattern for tactical reasons.
